Struggling to Get Away from the Wall in Your Handstand? Here’s Why⬇️ If you’re falling every time you try to hold a freestanding handstand, it could be because you haven’t fully mastered the wall-assisted version yet. Don’t rush—focus on control first. Here’s what to do: 1️⃣Control the Position: When holding your back to the wall, just lightly touch it with your toes. The goal is to gradually decrease the amount of weight you’re relying on the wall for. Push up with your fingers, engage your core, and push your body towards the ceiling using your shoulders. 2️⃣Don’t Move Too Far: Stay close to the wall so you can touch it again if you lose balance. This proximity allows you to reset quickly and regain control. Focus on improving the control and feel of your handstand by breaking it down into manageable steps. Unlock your HANDSTAND. Don’t be afraid❗️ When you start practicing a handstand, it’s normal to be scared of kicking up into an upside-down position. That’s why you need to start with preparation exercises. 1️⃣Pike feet-elevated: is a very safe exercise that will help strengthen your shoulders and help you understand the position. Leg raises to the vertical, will prepare you for the kick-up. 2️⃣Chest to Wall Steps Up: will help you understand the handstand position and strengthen your shoulders to hold your body. It’s easy to adjust—first, start at a 60-degree angle, and as you gain confidence, get closer and closer to the wall. 3️⃣To practice the kick-up, Start With The Chair : When you lift your leg, you’re almost in the handstand position, so there’s no need to be afraid of over-kicking and falling—you can easily control yourself. 4️⃣And the final step: Kick Up to the Wall! Don’t rush! Practice each step for a few days to build confidence and feel your body. 📲Train with the Andry Strong App to learn Handstand FASTER: link in bio. #calisthenics #handstand #planche #tutorial #calisthenicscoach #andrystrong #andrystrongacademy
